Legal documents and support for Alright iOS app
Alright is a personal-wellness check-in app for iPhone. Record mood, energy and anxiety ratings, capture text or voice thoughts, review your history, and prepare for therapy. The app also runs in iPad compatibility mode.
Updated September 30, 2026. This page describes Alright version 1.1.1, being prepared for App Store review. It is not an announcement that this version is available to download. The public 1.1.0 version uses the previous subscription model until the unlocked update is released. Earlier versions and test builds may behave differently.
Check-ins, notes, recordings, remembered topics, saved therapy briefs and session takeaways are stored locally. This version does not implement iCloud synchronization. Device backups depend on your Apple settings.
Optional AI Insights and therapy summaries use Apple’s on-device model. Your ratings, notes and generated summaries are not sent to a developer server or cloud AI service. There is no cloud fallback. Read the full privacy policy.
For bugs or product questions, open a support issue. GitHub issues are public. Include only the app version, device model, iOS version, a description of the problem and steps to reproduce it. Do not post health information, personal notes, recordings, payment details, credentials or unredacted screenshots. Check existing issues before posting.
This support channel is not a medical or emergency service. Alright does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service.
It requires an Apple Intelligence-compatible device, Apple Intelligence enabled, and its model downloaded and ready. Supported languages and regions vary. Check Apple Intelligence in device Settings, then use Check Availability in Insights. Check-ins, notes, charts and exports remain available without a subscription in version 1.1.1 when AI is unavailable. Remembered topics, original entries, recorded ratings and session history remain available without AI. Generated summaries may be inaccurate.
Open the Home gear > Settings > Privacy > Disable AI Insights. This blocks further generation, discards any in-progress result, and clears the reusable note-summary cache. Saved therapy briefs, session history and original records remain available. Enabling AI again requires the local-processing explanation. No cloud service is enabled by either choice.
Use Capture a thought to save text or a voice note without entering ratings. Mark Remember this on a new or existing note when you want to discuss it at your next session. Unresolved topics carry forward until you mark them discussed or remove the flag.
Tap Prep for therapy and set the date of your last session on first use, or choose I haven’t had one yet. The brief puts remembered topics first and summarizes your recorded information since that session. Optional on-device AI groups related notes into themes. Missing or partial transcriptions and incomplete summaries are identified, and original entries remain available.
You can reorder talking points, edit wording, and hide a topic from the current brief. Hiding a topic does not mark it discussed. After your appointment, use Had my session to record the date, select discussed topics, and optionally add a text or voice takeaway. The completed brief is saved in session history.
Settings > Privacy > Export My Data creates a JSON file containing your profile, check-ins, standalone notes and therapy state, including saved session briefs and takeaways. It includes voice-file paths, not the audio itself.
In therapy prep, Choose what to share lets you select talking points and sections, preview a PDF or text version, and then choose a sharing destination. Hidden or unselected topics and their linked generated themes are excluded. Review your edited wording in the preview, since it may still mention a topic you have hidden or unselected. Nothing is shared automatically.
Deleting an individual note or check-in removes the live original. Saved session briefs retain historical copies and any recordings they reference. Delete All Data removes those histories and recordings as well as other local records, app-owned recordings, reusable summary caches and temporary exports, and disables AI. Exported copies and device backups must be managed separately.
Deleting app data does not cancel a previous Apple subscription or delete Apple transaction records. All features in version 1.1.1 remain available without a subscription.
Reminders are scheduled locally; notification permission is optional. Voice recording requires microphone permission. Transcription requires on-device speech recognition support for your device and language; no cloud speech fallback is used.
Version 1.1.1 includes all features with the app. The planned US download price is $1.99 once, with no recurring Alright payment. The App Store shows the price for your country or region before download. Price activation is coordinated with the unlocked update; this page does not claim that the new build or price is live. Existing users receive the update without another purchase, including users who previously downloaded the app for free or had a subscription.
All records and optional AI processing remain on your device. No cloud service or account is added. On-device AI still needs compatible hardware, system settings, language and a ready model; basic prep and records work without it.
Version 1.1.1 unlocks all features regardless of a previous subscription’s status. Your saved records and access continue. Subscription retirement is coordinated with release; removing purchase screens alone does not stop an Apple renewal. Check the renewal status in your Apple account, or use Settings > App access > Manage a previous subscription with Apple. On version 1.1.0, existing Apple trial or paid access remains subject to that version’s subscription gate; update to 1.1.1 once it is available.
Until retired, the legacy monthly ($4.99 US) and yearly ($39.99 US) subscriptions renew under Apple’s existing terms. Eligible introductory trials last 14 days and start on Apple purchase confirmation. Manage or cancel through Apple, and use Apple’s purchase support for billing or refund requests. No automatic refund or cancellation from an app update is promised.
